Beginning of modern agricultural production and milestone in the development of viticulture and wine making were marked by the initiative of the Executive Council of the government of Montenegro of that time, at the head of which was Đoko Pajković, visionary of Montenegrin agricultural development, concerning merging agricultural entities,formed at the beginning of ‘60s in the territories of Titograd, Danilovgrad and Virpazar, into an agricultural plant which got its name Agrokombinat „13.jul“later .

Expert committee made up an elaborate on the basis of which the Executive Council of Montenegro, made the decision on the 13th of December in 1963,to integrate four,separate agricultural entities into Agricultural-industrial plant(PIK) seated in Titograd.

It was confirmed that that idea made possible the success of modern agricultural production in Montenegro with „Plantaže“, formed within „Agrokombinat“, which has continued and developed „Agrokombinat“.

Since forming Agricultural-industrial plant, viticultural-wine making and fruit-growing production was organized as a separate unit „Vino-voće produkt“.Since 1965, when PIK was transformed into Agrokombinat „13.jul“,that segment of the production was renamed into „Plantaže“,which has had a leading position in all phases of of the business system of „13.jul“.

After a few successful development phases in the last decade of the last century, Agrokombinat „13.jul“passed through crisis, lost those legal,economic and development marks by which it was recognizable in former Yugoslavia and out of its borders.

„Plantaže“ managed not only to overcome the crisis, maintain production and economic dynamics ,but also to improve its business activities considerably.
