Ćemovsko Polje – Where Wine Carries the Taste of Its Terroir

They say that wines are “children of their terroir”, and our wines prove it. Every variety we cultivate and every grape we harvest reflects the soil in which it grows and the climate in which it ripens.

In everything we do, from the vineyard to the cellar, we are guided by respect for the land from which the wine comes

An Environment Made for Growing Grapevines

The Montenegrin terroir, set between the Adriatic Sea, Lake Skadar and the surrounding mountain ranges, provides exceptional conditions for cultivating indigenous grape varieties. It is here, in Ćemovsko Polje, that wines of distinctive character are created, reaching wine lovers in more than 40 countries.

This wine-growing area belongs to the Podgorica subregion, within Montenegro’s Lake Skadar basin. The proximity of the sea, the lake and the valley of the Bojana River together shape a unique microclimate, creating a perfect balance of sun, wind and humidity — conditions in which the grapevine speaks its noblest language.

The picturesque Cijevna River flows through the middle of the vineyard. Its riverbed clearly reveals the profile of the soil — layers of rock from which the grapevine grows and which give our wines their distinctive signature.

Conditions That Demand the Strength of the Vine

The vineyard is located at an altitude between 45 and 70 meters, in a karst basin with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Low rainfall and more than 2,500 hours of sunshine per year present a challenge for the grapevine, but precisely these conditions, together with the rocky soil composed of limestone, sand and gravel, give the wines from Ćemovsko Polje their distinctive character.
